in 1877
The
Forreston Mutual Insurance Company was founded
by a group of farmers in northwest Illinois for
the purpose of providing farmers with cheaper
fire protection than they had been able to obtain.
When organized, only farm property was insured,
however, throughout the years the policy and
coverages have been revised and updated in an
effort to offer the best protection possible.
There
are ten elected directors from the area that
currently serve on the board. When the company
was first chartered, it only served four townships.
Now the territory has grown to 34 counties in
central and northwestern Illinois.
Forreston
Mutual Insurance Company has provided policyholders
protection and security for the best value for
over one-hundred twenty years, and will continue
to provide exemplary service and continued financial
strength into the future.
